01 / About YOBE

A network built by board members, for board members.

The Young Olympic Board Network Europe brings together serving board members of European National Olympic Committees who are under the age of 45.

YOBE is a space for honest exchange about the realities of leadership in national and international sport. Members share practical experience, learn from different NOC contexts and build relationships that last beyond individual meetings.

The network meets both in person and online. It is shaped by its members and supports stronger relationships, mutual understanding and continuity within the Olympic Movement.

A peer network, not a representative body.YOBE is structured but informal, non-political and non-representative. It does not adopt positions or speak on behalf of NOCs. The network is complementary to established European and international Olympic structures and supports members in their work within their own NOCs.

Initiated in 2022
YOBE was initiated by Frans Hammer, Vice President of the Danish National Olympic Committee. The Danish NOC continues to support the coordination of the network.

From a first meeting
to a European community.

YOBE has grown through regular meetings, open conversations and the willingness of members to share what they know.

Copenhagen

Denmark YOBE was established at the first meeting, bringing together young NOC board members from across Europe.

JUN
2023

Billund

Denmark The network continued its exchange and strengthened relationships between members and their NOCs.

APR
2024

Lisbon

Portugal Members developed YOBE’s shared identity and strengthened outreach to NOCs across Europe.

MAR
2025

Malta

Malta Presentations, peer exchange and a workshop mapped NOC strengths and needs. Follow-up work covered communication, network visibility, board-member guidance and sustainable funding.

APR
2026

Vaduz

Liechtenstein Discussions on sport diplomacy, governance and leadership reinforced the value of continued exchange and practical cooperation between meetings.

Growing across Europe

By the Malta meeting, YOBE had grown to approximately 30 members representing 26 European countries.

03 / What’s next

The next chapter starts soon.

The next YOBE meeting will take place in April 2027. The host will be revealed soon.

It will provide an opportunity to develop leadership perspectives, share experiences and deepen the sense of connection and community among young NOC board members across Europe.
